Statistics on kids hit by cars
- Traffic fatalities among children rose 5.5% in 2015 (the most recent year available at the time). According to a 2017 transportation department report, nearly 1/2 of all weekday child-pedestrian fatalities occur before and after school in the 6:00 to 9:00 am and the 3:00 to 6:00 pm time period.
