Once upon a time life was simple, and kids could set up a lemonade stand without much hassle Now they have to worry about government regulators shutting them down or fining them for operating without a business license.

Others, apparently, have to contend with a new threat: the possibility of armed robbery.  Two siblings manning a lemonade stand in Boston were robbed at gunpoint by another kid who ran off with their cash box.  The 14-year-old suspect was apprehended a short time later.  He now faces charges of armed robbery and unlawful possession of a firearm.

Thankfully, the tow lemonade stand workers emerged unscathed.  “We’re 12 and 11” said David Byrne, who was manning the stand with his sister.  “You shouldn’t really do that.”  Not just because robbing kids is wrong, but because it’s not a very wise financial decision.  I can’t imagine the heist netted him much, and it’s now going to cost the teen substantially more than he could possibly have made.
