Sometimes real life is stranger than fiction.
The following crazy but true animal stories are evidence of this.
Drunk Birds Cause Traffic Jam
In October of 2016, a massive, mile-long traffic jam amassed on the A2 highway in Australia. The reason? Intoxicated aviators. A large flock of starlings had apparently feasted on a batch of fermented berries. The drunk birds couldn’t fly straight and crashed into cars or stumbled onto the road, flopping about. Kangaroo Wanted in String of Sexual Assaults
In 2010, police in Australia’s Northern Territory were on the lookout for a large, male kangaroo that is accused of harassing human females. One woman reports that the kangaroo approached her at a car race in a state of obvious sexual arousal, and another says that he followed her around during her morning walk. “I hastened my steps,” said the anonymous woman. “There was no doubt what he wanted, the randy old thing.” (The Week, 5-28-2010, p. 12)
No Turtle Rides Allowed
In Melbourne, Florida, police arrested a woman who was photographed in July “riding” a sea turtle. She has been charged with molesting the animal.
Elk Verses Horse
In Pendleton, Oregon, an owner discovered his horse had been killed, and suspected wolves to be the culprit. It turned out the animal was actually gored by a bull elk. Let this be a reminder that even the non-meat-eating animals can be dangerous.
A Mighty Fine Looking Ass
A man in Neillsville, Wisconsin, faces criminal charges and possible jail time after being accused of having sex with a donkey in early September.
