Police are just as prone to careless shootings and reckless gun use as anyone else.  Here are some of the stories of police using their guns in a careless manner.

Police Officer Gets Spooked by Acorn & Opens Fire
In another example of why maybe even police shouldn’t have guns, a Florida police officer was forced to resign after spraying his own police car with bullets…miraculously missing a suspect who was handcuffed in the back seat. The reason? He was spooked by an acorn, apparently mistaking the falling nut for a gunshot. When the acorn hit, body cam footage shows Deputy Jesse Hernandez reacting by yelling “Shots fired!” and dropping to the ground before emptying his entire clip into his own car.
