10-3-2007 Twenty-seven-year-old  Francisco Ramirez was  sentenced early Wednesday, in a child abuse case that left a two-year-old girl permanently disabled.  He was originally charged with attempted murder, but later pleaded no-contest to a reduced charge of attempted manslaughter. 9-1-07 Thirty-year-old Jonathon Edington, a lawyer from Bridgeport, Connecticut, was sentenced Friday to 12 years in prison for first-degree manslaughter, after stabbing to death an elderly man in his bedroom.
