Sometimes family conflict can spiral out of control, resulting in some rather silly behavior. Here are a couple of interesting stories we recently came across:

Grandma Under Cover
In Iowa City, Iowa, police say that an estranged grandmother, desperate to see her grandson, dawned a fake beard and disguise in order to sneak into a school cafeteria and give the boy gifts. How sad that family conflict should ever get to this point: a disguise and police intervention, just because a grandmother wants to see her grand kids. Can’t we all be adults?

Man Breaks Into Mother’s Home to Steal Her Stew
In Albuquerque, New Mexico, a 23-year-old man was arrested for breaking into his mother’s home and making off with a pot of her New Mexican Stew. apparently, the mother had repeatedly warned him to stay away from her posole. But the young man grabbed the dish and ran off anyway. I think that has to be the greatest compliment a cook can get: when people are breaking in to get at your stew, you must be cooking something right.
