Fire spread through a soldiers home on the Fort Campbell Army Base in Kentucky, killing his two young children. His wife was also seriously injured, according to officials. The two children, a 3-year-old girl and a 9-year-old boy were pronounced dead at the base hospital.

When firefighters tracked down the source of a house fire in Washington that caused around $200,000 worth of damage, they came upon an unusual culprit: the dogs water bowl. 11-7-07 A 4-year-old boy died from smoke inhalation Wednesday, in a house fir he started in Salt Lake, Honolulu. Fire investigators believe that little John Rex Caesar was playing with a lighter. 7-23-07 A 4-year-old playing with a lighter started a fire that destroyed his family’s home in Northglenn, Colorado. The boy was in a bedroom when he lit some clothing on fire. It spread quickly, but thankfully everyone escaped the blaze, including the child who started the fire. It took twenty firefighters to battle the flames, which fully engulfed the main floor of the house. 6-28-07 Three young girls were killed early Thursday, when a fire swept through their Burtonville, Md. apartment. Their mother was also critically injured in the house fire. Police used the incident to detain the girls father on immigration charges.
