Child abuse is typically a problem of parents who otherwise love their children, either making poor decisions or loosing their composure in a moment of anger. Then there are cases like this one, which is so unusual as to defy all logic.

Mitchelle Blair is a 36-year-old mother who admits to subjecting her children to some of the most horrendous abuse you can think of, eventually killing two of them. Thirteen-year-old Stoni was kicked, hit on the head, “over and over” doused with scalding water, repeatedly punched, and held with a bag over her head until she lost consciousness. Blair openly admits that she meant to kill Stoni, but claims she did not mean to kill her 9-year-old son Stephen. She says she merely meant to inflict serious bodily harm on the boy. The bodies of both children were discovered in a deep freezer at the family’s Detroit home in March.

More incredible still, this abusive mom says that she doesn’t “regret any of it,” even going so far as to say during a hearing, “If I had a chance to do it again, I would.” She pleaded guilty to one count of first degree for the death of Stoni, and one count of felony murder for Stephen’s killing, and will spend life in prison without the possibility of parole. Her two other children, and 8-year-old son,and a 17-year-old daughter were placed in the care of a relative.
