Methamphetamines are one of the harder, more dangerous drugs around. When meth users leave their supply laying around where kids can accesses it, bad things happen. Here are some stories of accidental meth overdoses involving children, and cases of kids dying from meth exposure.
Girl in foster care dies from meth exposure
One young girl, referred to only by the acronym M.M., whom I’ll call Megan, twice suffered accidental methamphetamine exposure. The second time killed her. Megan and her brother had been snatched from their parents by CPS an placed in a foster home. The foster mother’s live-in boyfriend had a meth habit. On Oct. 3, 2015, she began acting strangely in the park, hallucinating, shaking and sweating. The hospital determined she had ingested methamphetamine. CPS workers knew of this incident, but did nothing. On Oct. 16, 2015, just a week or so after Megan’s third birthday, she experienced a second accidental overdose , dying in her brothers arms.
