In Odenton, Maryland, a family’s home suffered extensive damage after a 12-year-old boy played with fireworks in his bedroom.  According to authorities, the boy doused the fire with water when it first started.  Thinking it was out, the boy left, but the flames re-ignited several moments later and spread through most of the house.  The boy, his five siblings, and his parents were able to escape without injury.  (UAS Today, 7-8-2008, p. 6A)
