The Murder Mystery of a Dismembered Child
In Chicago, police are trying to piece together the details surrounding the tragic crime scene after parts of a child’s body were found littered across a Chicago lagoon that bordered Garfield Park on the city’s West Side. It started last Saturday when a passerby noticed a child’s foot floating in the lagoon. She called police, and over the next several days they tried to fish out the rest of the child. Police announced on Monday that they had discovered the child’s head.
The preschooler could have been as young as 10 months, but is believed to have been around 2 or 3 years old when he (she) died, and is most likely of African-American descent, though nothing can be ruled our for sure at this time.
Police are yet unsure of the child’s gender, but believe it is likely a male. They continue to search for the rest of the child’s body, and gather clues that would lead them to the child’s identity. They have also passed out police artist sketches of the child, and are distributing them in the area.
