On a Friday morning in mid-October, a man dropped off his  daughter at an Arlington church. The 3-year-old girl was covered in blood, but uninjured. (At least physically). Church staff took the child in and called police after hearing the man say that he had committed a crime at his house. Police later found the body of his estranged wife, along with the  man’s  step children – A thirteen-year-old girl and ten-year-old boy.

Police cornered the suspect in his house, and a seven-hour  standoff with police ensued. It ended when the man sped out of the driveway, leading police on a brief chase. He then drove the car into Lake Arlington, in an apparent attempt to commit suicide. There was no word on his condition.
