Tot Weddings?

A law passed by Arkansas lawmakers in 2007 allows citizens of any age, including infants or toddlers, to marry so long as their parents agree. Lawmakers called a special session to fix this unintended loophole in their new legislation.
“It’s clearly not the intent to allow 10-year-olds or 11-year-olds to get married,” said the bills sponsor, Representative Will Bond. It was intended to establish 18 as the minimum legal age to marry, while allowing pregnant teenagers to get married with parental consent.
It’s wording, however, allowed anyone to marry at any age with parental consent.
A little known fact: As the age to marry has been increasing, so have the divorce rates.
