Boy Steals Concrete Mixer, Leads Police On High Speed Chase
It was an unusual Sunday afternoon in Dodge Center, Minnesota when an 11-year-old boy was arrested after leading police on a high speed chase that lasted about 75 minutes. His choice of vehicle, a stolen concrete mixer truck. Some reports put top speeds at more than 110 miles per hour through residential suburban neighborhoods.
A witness says that the boy was raised around farming, and knew how to drive a tractor and farming equipment. It could have become a tragedy if he had hit a car or a home, or worse yet a pedestrian.
He was followed by several police vehicles, and a State Patrol helicopter. He was finally stopped and arrested when he turned down a dead end street with nowhere to go.
