Child Killing Border Agent Finally Charged
This last week the indictment borer patrol agent Lonnie Swartz was announced. He was indited on 2nd degree murder for killing a 16-year-old Mexican teen 3 year ago on October 10, 2012.
Swartz says he fired at people who were throwing rocks over the border. (As if kids throwing is justification to kill them.) So he aimed through a narrow opening in the border fence and emptied his magazine. He then reloaded and continued firing. All told, he hit the teenager 10 times in the back of the head.
Witnesses say the boy was just walking down the street when he was killed. Ballistics of the situation also refute Mr. Swartz’s claim. As Rob O’Dell writes in USA today, “Where (Jose Antonio) Elena Rodriguez died, the Mexican side of the fence is about25 feet lower than the US side. Because of the arc that rocks thrown over the fence there would have to follow, it would be all but impossible for a rock thrown from Mexico to hit someone near the fence on the US side.”
That defendant Swartz was only charged with 2nd degree murder is yet another example of how the police can get away with things the public can’t. This appears to be a cold blooded child killing. Most people convicted for 1st degree murder didn’t show half the callousness of this man. Or maybe Mexican lives just aren’t as important.
