Man Kills Wife with Pellet Gun
In West Milford, New Jersey, a man was charged with reckless manslaughter after fatally shooting his wife with a pellet gun. Police said the matter appeared to be a “freak accident” with the gun that Frank McDonald normally used to shoot squirrels. (USA Today, 1-5-2008, p. 9A)

Child Dies After Being shot with BB Gun
In Louisville, Kentucky, an 11-year-old boy died after being shot in the chest by a BB gun. He was apparently shot by his 16-year-old uncle, and the bb ended up piercing his heart. An attorney for the family called the incident “an unbelievably tragic event.” No charges were expected to be filed. (USA Today, 3-17-2010, p. 6A)
